SABAH WOMEN BEAT LAJIM TO IT

KOTA KINABALU: Datuk Lajim Ukin was urged to choose another name for his proposed party, Sabah Reform Alliance, as its acronym of PPS clashes with that of Persatuan Perempuan Sabah (PPS).

Klias Assemblywoman Datuk Azizah Mohd Dun said Lajim cannot use the initials PPS because it was already registered by her association.
"He can form his new party but he must find another name for it," said Azizah.

"This is a democracy country. Anyone can form their party but it's up to the people to decide which is better for them. "Barisan Nasional (BN) has done a lot of changes for the people this shows that the current government has proved they governed well, so if he (Lajim) wants to form new party that's his right," she said.

Azizah said the grassroots there are still supportive of the BN.

She said they (grassroots) know that BN have done well for them and those people without houses are being given houses, the poor also obtained assistance from the government.

"There was no reason for the people to follow something that they are not sure of.
We are the government and now we are doing well for the people and not for us," she said. (DE)

  1. Looks like Lajim Ukin needs to find another name for his party, PPS is already taken.

    1. No need for Lajim to find another name for his party. It is better if he stop proposing to make a new party. Just retire from politics.

  2. I wonder if the Registrar of Society will approve Lajim's registration of his new party? If so, will he have enough time to campaign for votes so close to the general elections.

    1. I don't think ROS will approve Lajim's party. USNO itself hasn't got the approval.

    2. He said he already submitted the application and the ROS have considered it.

  3. Lajim said he will contest under his own party if it was approved by ROS, if his new party was not approved, the he will contest under Pakatan Rakyat's ticket. Doesn't Pakatan sound like a Plan B?

    1. Recently Lajim said all Muslim majority seats in Sabah are to be contested by Sabah Reform Alliance (PPS) but Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) Sabah Chief Ahmad Thamrin Jaini said it is not true.
