Khairy urges PAS to leave Pakatan

Barisan Nasional Youth chief Khairy Jamaluddin Abu Bakar has today urged PAS to leave Pakatan Rakyat as DAP has not shown solidarity in protesting against the film ‘Innocence of Islam’ and caricatures that badly depict Prophet Muhammad.

Khairy claims he has brought many people from the MCA and MIC of various races to protest against such demeaning acts committed by US producer Sam Bacile.

“However, (Beruas MP) Ngeh Koo Ham said that this is (protest) is a waste of time,” he said.

“We are in solidarity with our brothers in PAS protesting this as it has nothing to do with politics but desecration of Islam and Prophet Muhammad. We will do the same if this happens to other religion.

“However, in Pakatan we do not find this not only they do not join and protest like Bersih, they criticise those who want to protest. For this  reason maybe PAS should rethink its role in Pakatan and leave it.”

He said if the DAP is truly democratic it should have taken action on Ngeh.

Khairy, who is the Umno Youth chief, said this in his speech during a protest at the Kampung Baru mosque today.

Also present were Perkasa’s Ibrahim Ali and Jati leader Hasan Ali.
